Baltic Environmental Forum Lithuania and Lithuanian Ornithological Society implementing the project “Strengthening institutional capacities for implementation of international conventions in agricultural landscape in Lithuania” supported by a grant from Norway through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and jointly supported by Lithuania would like to cordially invite you to an international conference “Conservation of the Great Snipe (Gallinago media) breeding population: status, trends, habitat selection and management” which will be held on 6-7 December, 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The main aim of the conference is to review the latest data on the distribution and abundance trends of the Great Snipe in various countries, its breeding habitat selection, restoration and protection of breeding sites, as well as to provide recommendations to the competent institutions regarding practical measures necessary to improve the conservation status of the species at the local and international level.
